How Many Types of Cataracts Are There?
- Secondary cataract- This cataract is more likely to occur after surgery for glaucoma.
- Traumatic cataract- A cataract caused by an injury to the eye is called a traumatic cataract. Cataracts can occur even after many years of injury.
- Congenital cataract- This is a congenital or childhood cataract. This cataract, being very small, does not affect the vision of the eye. But with increasing age, the lens of the eye may have to change.
- Radiation cataract- Some cataracts are caused by exposure to radiation.
